Apprenticeships and Traineeships Pathways at Coolum High
As part of our commitment to ensuring that every student transitions into further education, training or employment, Coolum State High School supports students in accessing apprenticeship and traineeship pathways as part of their senior education pathway.
Under a School-based Apprenticeship or Traineeship
(SAT) arrangement, a senior school student is released from school time to
undertake an apprenticeship or traineeship in their chosen field. Opportunities are advertised to our
school community via newsletters, e-mails and in school announcements on a
regular basis.
Students
interested in perusing a vocational opportunity, should complete an Expression
of Interest form and discuss their plans with a member of the VET team (Head of
Department or Transition Officer) in the office at Wandama.
You need a USI
Every year, many Australians build and sharpen their skills by undertaking nationally recognised training. And getting the right skills when and where industry needs them is a key building block to Australia's future prosperity. The USI will build a structure that supports targeted training for the needs of industry.
For Australian industry and the Vocational Education and Traininig (VET) sector, the USI information means:
- less time in waiting for job applicants to confirm their nationally recognised training qualifications
- evidence-based smarter regulation for the reduction of poor quality training
- sharing of training information will make it easier for training providers and for Australian businesses
- greater efficiency in managing interactions with governments and regulators, simplyifying government VET program eligibility and entitlement processing.
Students will need to create a USI and email it to tford42@eq.edu.au or mblac127@eq.edu.au at the end of Year 9.
