Music Extension is offered to Year 12 students as General Subject via expression of interest. As part of the Music Extension course, Year 12 students are offered:
- A dedicated 210min block of timetabled time to work on course material with a mentor each week.
- An opportunity to sepcialise in a musical discipline in a small class with other passionate musical students.
- An opportunity for enrolment in another General Music subject.
The pedagogy of the Music extension is delivered for students with the intent of:
- Developing independent and self directed learners.
- Enabling musicianship through experimentation, exploration and a praxial music experience.
- Enhancing musicianship by deepening aural skills through a broad appreciation and analysis of all musical styles, genres and periods.
- Building the capacity for students to manage milestones, work to deadlines and deliver musical projects and outcomes to a high level through senior.
