​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ ​In recent years, Coolum State High School has become an educational powerhouse with exemplary academic outcomes and ATAR scores, coupled with a wide and highly successful range of extra-curricular endeavours.

In 2023, Coolum High dux, Jessnee Ng, received the perfect ATAR score of 99.95 reserved for only 34 students in Queensland.  This pinnacle achievement is testament to the strength of Coolum State High School's educational programs and the dedication of its teachers.  It also is indicative of Coolum High's commitment to excellence for all students.

In 2022, Coolum High graduate, Jemima Bainbridge, was awarded as Queensland's highest performed Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student, while in 2021 our school dux was awarded by the Minister for Education for Outstanding Academic Achievement and received at ATAR score of 99.90.

As well as outstanding academic programs and ATAR scores, Coolum High offers a broad and successful vocational program from which countless careers have been launched.  We are proud of all of our vocational offerings, and none more so than our celebrated 'Health Hub,' through which so many of our students have launched the career of their dreams.

All of this success springs from a caring heart based on our values of Care, Respect and Excellence.  Each and every student at Coolum High is deeply valued and our committed staff work to identify students' strengths and needs and steer students towards a bright and fulfilling future.  Our structures for care and support are second-to-none, led by our vibrant Student Services team.  At Coolum High we vow to ensure that no student is left behind.

Coolum High's broad co-curricular program has been exceptionally successful, especially through our Academy Programs in:

  • Instrumental Music
  • Cheerleading
  • Robotics
  • Chess
  • Basketball
  • Surfing
  • AFL
  • Netball

Each of these programs has been successful in leading students to peak performance with our Wind Symphony winning the Sunshine Coast Eisteddfod, Cheerleading winning state and national medals, Regional Chess championships, elite Basketball performances, World Tour surfing professionals and much, much more.

At Coolum State High School there is something for everybody.  We are a vibrant school that truly cares and we are open and deliberate about targeting and achieving high performance.  We are so proud of what we have achieved and we are only just beginning!​
