Built in 1985, Coolum State High School buildings are mainly low set and vary in age. However, two new two-storey buildings have recently been completed. The addition of these buildings has paved the way for a futures-focussed school.
The new two-storey building situated at the front of our school has specialist health spaces where we will deliver the Certificate III in Allied Health. This facility will give our students a unique learning experience and prepare them for exciting careers in the health sector.
In addition to general classrooms, we have specialist technical areas in industrial technology and design, home economics, art, performing arts, science, and state of the art flexible learning areas where students can learn coding, robotics, 3D design and modelling, and produce their work using our laser cutter.
We have five basketball courts, four netball courts, a small, functional gym and two large ovals that can cater for AFL, rugby league and soccer. Our oval is also used for athletics, including a long jump pit and shot put area and softball diamond.
We have upgraded our wireless access technology and increased our bandwidth, giving our students greater internet speed for their research and we offer a wide range of software for use by both staff and students.
