Our Junior Secondary Team is focused on ensuring all our future students and families are ready for the next step in the learning phase and confident to start their High School journey. We work closely with local primary schools to ensure that “high school readiness" is a process that begins with the commencement of Year 6, and evolves in line with the needs of our students throughout the year. We have diligently developed a vast range of opportunities to further strengthen the ties between the primary school and high school environment, ultimately ensuring that students feel confident, capable, and ready to take the leap into the next phase of their learning.
This High School Readiness Program includes:
- Parent Information Session – Term 1
- ALPHA Information Session – Term 1 (Applications Closes Week 6 Term 2)
- High School Showcase Coolum State High School – Term 2
- Principal Roadshow Visits to Primary Schools – Term 2
- CSHS Staff and Student visit local primary schools – Terms 3 and 4
- CSHS “Experience Days" welcomes future students to sample mini lesson – Term 3
- Enrolments DUE end of Term 3
- Parent Information Evening at Coolum State High School - Term 4 Week 8
- Orientation Day for all enrolled Year 7 (2025) Students - Term 4 Week 9 (Tuesday).
- High School Induction Week 1 Term 1 Year 7
