Tourism Students Help Under 8s Play

Our Tourism students have had a busy first half of the year helping at many school functions including the school swimming carnival and cross-country. They have also been fantastic tour guides for our visiting Japanese students. However it is not just in our small school community that our students are contributing their newly acquired skills and knowledge.

Our latest venture had the students helping out at Coolum State School’s Under 8s Day. The Tourism students happily volunteered in the school canteen and food stand on the oval as hundreds of excited under 8s ran from activity to activity. The students worked in the industrial kitchen to prepare an enormous amount of food for the day and helped set up the food stand with snacks and yummy treats.

The students gained first hand experience working as a team to help to set up and run an event and proudly and professionally represented the school.
