AFL Develops New Skills

24/06/2014

Each Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and most Sundays, you will see Coolum High’s two ovals overflowing with children aged from 8 to 18, all members of the Coolum Breakers Junior AFL Club either training or playing for their respective age group in one of thirteen Coolum teams.

Over the past six weeks the two Year 9 Health and Physical Education Extension classes, have had the opportunity to work with an AFL development officer to hone their skills or learn a complete new set of skills; from hand passing, kicking, taking a mark, bouncing the AFL ball or simply avoiding opposition and finding space on the field.

Well done to all the students who got involved and really took up the challenge to try something new.

Thanks also to Nick from AFL Queensland for his coaching and expertise during this period.
