Our goal at Coolum State High School is to ensure that students receive every opportunity to reach their potential in Mathematics. We are conscious of developing:

  • life-long learners
  • a knowledgable person with deep understanding
  • a complex thinker
  • a responsive creator
  • an active investigator
  • an effective communicator
  • a participant in an interdependant world
  • a reflective and self directed learner

To achieve the above, the experienced staff in the Mathematics Department work tirelessly to be at the forefront of any changes in the Mathematics curriculum and to develop professionaly through teacher related workshops.

Our classes are organised in such a way so as to give students every opportunity for success.

EVENTS:

We offer students the opportunity to take part in numerous competitions and events such as the Annual Sunshine Coast Mathematics Tournament held at the University of the Sunshine Coast, the Univeristy of NSW Mathematics Competition and the Rio Tinto Maths Challenge.
